Hi Allie, and everyone - I'm Terry - I teach English second language kindergarten. I haven't ventured into the life of blogging yet, but I love to stalk. I have gotten some amazing ideas from everyone. I've raised two daughters, one who is a first grade teacher, the other just graduated from college and is off to grad school to become a behavioral neuroscientist. She has seen the struggles we teachers have with our "behavioral" children and thought she would love to find the causation of these behaviors. She is my hero. I am also helping raise my 3 year old grandson - so all your ideas are coming in handy, it's been a long time since I've had a three year old in the house.
I'm looking forward to sharing with you all, thanks for doing this.

Permalink Reply by Charlotte Allen on December 5, 2011 at 6:10pm Hi! I'm new here and very excited to get involved and learn new stuff. I started out in daycare in high school and went on to work as a nanny. I've now been a Nanny for over 10 years and I still love it! I prefer the 0-2 1/2 age range. I have a 7 1/2 yo boy, nearly 5 yo girl, and another girl due early Feb. With both my family and nanny kids I LOVE to do art and learning activities. With my kids at home we enjoy baking as well.
I don't have any special training/schooling for my job as a Nanny aside from CPR/First Aid. Just the experience of having cared for so many kids!
I do have a blog, www.allenfam4.blogspot.com. I mostly use it to update family and friends on our lives, but I've been known to get some venting taken care of over there as well.
I love to scrapbook, read, and just waste time on my computer!!
Permalink Reply by Penny Woods on January 1, 2012 at 12:04pm Hello Everyone,
I am new to the We Teach community. I'm a former public school media and technology specialist. Although I am no longer in the classroom, I wanted to find a unique way to help teachers. With the current state of educational budgets and knowing how much teachers ACTUALLY spend out of their own pockets, I created the blog "Penniless Teacher."
The goal of "Penniless Teacher" is to find FREE funding for teachers, through grants, sweepstakes, contests and giveaways. You will not find those mega money grants that require months to complete the application. I try to find the EASY low dollar funds to save you time, and money.
Join me at Penniless Teacher blog and on Facebook.
Looking forward to meeting you all!

Permalink Reply by Miss L on January 22, 2012 at 4:12pm I've been on We Teach for a few weeks but I just found this discussion.
I'm an education student from Manitoba, Canada. I blog regularly at www.misslwholebrainteaching.blogspot.com about my experiences as an education student, my questions about the educational field and my use of the classroom management strategy whole brain teaching.
I think We Teach is an awesome networking site, I've already learned so much. Thank you!
Permalink Reply by Malia Hollowell on March 18, 2012 at 10:36pm Hi Everyone,
I loved reading through your bios and now have collected a laundry list of blogs to check out over the next few days. Thanks for sharing!
My name is Malia and before becoming a SAHM this past year, I spent time teaching kindergarten and second grade. I recently received National Board Certification for Early Childhood Education and I love teaching little ones.
I started my blog, Playdough to Plato, to help parents learn simple, entertaining activities for teaching and strengthening pre-K to 2nd grade children's reading skills.
I'm looking forward to sharing and learning from all of you.

Permalink Reply by Kimberly Moore on March 19, 2012 at 4:05am Thanks for the introduction Allison! I am former teacher, ECE director, homeschool mom with three daughters who created "arithmetic village". It is a series of math books and activities which introduce the basic arithmetic functions through rhyme and personification. I think that a virtual staff room and sharing resources is the way of the future! :) http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/arithmeticvillage/arithmetic-vi...

Permalink Reply by Lisa Gleeson on August 11, 2012 at 7:47pm Hi, I'm Lisa. I have been teaching special education for 18 years now after being a SAHM to my 3 children. I have a Masters in Special Education and am certified in multiple disabilities, learning disorders, behavior disorders and early childhood special education. All but two years of teaching have been done with students with multiple disabilities and this is my third year teaching preschoolers with multiple disabilities. My passion is learning about chromosomal syndromes and how they affect all facts of a student's life. I love what I do, but because my students are on so many different educational levels, I have to work hard at differentiating my instruction. I find it difficult to find material I can use to teach my preschoolers. I hope to learn a lot from everyone here and if I can be of any help, you only have to ask :)
