Comment by Carrie Allison-Rolling on February 27, 2013 at 12:25pm I'm a former Secondary English teacher who will be starting a new career next year as an elementary librarian for K-4. I'm so excited! Are there any fellow elementary librarians here? If so, what advice can you give me for my first year? What resources do you suggest? Anyone else make the transition from secondary to elementary?

Hi Elementary Teachers,
I'm hosting a Words Their Way giveaway right now (ends tomorrow) and it could use some SERIOUS SHARING LOVE. I've been surprised at the low number of entries! It ends tomorrow night (10-26). And if you've ever used Words Their Way, you know how awesome this program is to teach spelling and reading! http://thisreadingmama.com/2012/10/21/words-their-way-giveaway/

Thank you in advance!

Comment by Dawn Little on January 19, 2012 at 1:44pm Hi Shelisa,
I would highly recommend Carole Tomlinson's work on Differentiated Instruction. Check out the ASCD website (www.ascd.org), but here is a quick link to their Differentiated Instruction Resource Page: http://ascd.org/research-a-topic/differentiated-instruction-resourc...
Good Luck!! :)
Comment by Shelisa on January 19, 2012 at 11:41am I'm taking an online course on Differentiated Instruction as I work on renewing my certificate (after being home 8 years with my 3 kids). Anyone have a recommendation for a site, article, resource I can read for my research paper? With 3 kids who are 31 months apart, I dare say my motherhood depends on differentiated instruction;)
Comment by Georgia Setzer on January 18, 2012 at 2:19am Hi Susan, Thank you so much for these resources - it's very much appreciated. Georgia :)
Comment by Susan Stephenson, the Book Chook on January 16, 2012 at 4:21am More for Georgia on telling time: worksheets you can set up yourself, a clock you can move hands on by clicking with mouse, a fun game called Bang on Time where you must stop the clock on the correct time.
Comment by Susan Stephenson, the Book Chook on January 16, 2012 at 4:13am Hi Georgia, I saw your question yesterday, and serendipitously stumbled onto a site tonight. It's an interactive book on time. It's designed for ESl learners but I think it might help him too.
