we teach

a place for parents and teachers to learn, share, and grow

I stumbled across some 1st grade classrooms on Twitter the other day and decided to set up my own class account. I'm not yet sure how I want to go about using it, but I think it has some great possibilities. Do any of you use Twitter? If so, what do you use it for? If you're interested in following us, our name is descamps_grade1

Thanks!

Hi Shannon!

Love the idea of having a blog for the students.

I love twitter because it is an easy way to communicate with people that I don't normally chat with.

I share things that I am doing and reading that I think are interesting and I follow people who do the same.

Have you ever participated in a Twitter party?  They are so much fun.  I always learn something new and meet new people to connect with.

Thanks for sharing. I am now following you on twitter :)

Thanks for the reply! I've started sharing more this week. I'll have to watch for a Twitter party. It's inspiring to see  the great things happening in other classrooms.

You can go to www.tweeparties.com and click on the "parties" button in the top right and there is a calendar of parties that you can participate in.  Some you have to RSVP with your twitter handle, but others you just jump in on :) Have fun and let me know if you want me to RT anything special you are working on in your class that you want me to share to my followers.

Great! Thank you:-)

Hi Shannon!  I haven't used Twitter with my students yet.  I use it for personal professional development and inspiration!  :)  Have you come up with any uses for you students yet?  I know I see a lot of people sharing what their students have done, and communicating with parents, etc.

Looking forward to learning with you!

P.S. LOVE your blog!!!
