Permalink Reply by Dena Booze on July 21, 2012 at 7:59pm I love everything about my Head Start program and Head Start in general. What I love most is the connection that we have with the families in our program. Head Start is not just about the children but the family as a whole. Having families involved in Head Start is the best school readiness.
I work for the Head Start Program in Wake County, North Carolina that has just become NAEYC accredited! I have been with Head Start since 2008 as a teacher and from 2002-2007 as a Head Start parent.

Thanks so much for joining the group and leaving a reply. I don't get on here much as no one has ever participated with one of my discussions, lol. Hopefully the group will grow though and we can get more conversations going. Feel free to start a discussion any time :)

Permalink Reply by Sherry Laurn-Adams on February 3, 2013 at 8:50am I work for BHK Child Development in Upper Michigan. BHK stands for Baraga, Houghton, Keweenaw counties. I have been working there for the past 23 years as a teacher. I love working with children. The ages that I work with are mainly three year olds. I was a Home Base teacher for about 19 years in which I visited the homes every week, and the children came to school 1 -2 days a week. They now come to school 4 days a week and I visit with the families twice a year. I enjoyed going to the homes and working with the families, I miss that since they changed the program. I love working with the families as a whole, I love that part of it. We also make sure that the children receive nutritious meals, are healthy, safe, and get all their developmental needs met.
