We've been busy with our indoor camping theme again and progressing to this week's theme of First Nations.

We've tried our hands (not entirely successfully) at building a solar oven

After that attempt, we decided it would be better to build an indoor campfire

Our next project then was to make something with the camfire, so I introduced the family to S'mores http://crystalstinytreasures.com/wordpress/?p=1314

Today's blog is our simple Indian headdress http://crystalstinytreasures.com/wordpress/?p=1032

Have a great week!

Crystal

Crystal, I've added some of these to the science and kitchen resource pages.  Thanks so much for sharing!  You have lots of fun learning at your house.  Carolyn

Two new things to share from my world this week:

Amy, the behaviour chart post is SO TRUE and it is very well stated.  That kindergarten project looks so fun!  Thanks for sharing, Carolyn

My son has been interested in stop-motion animation, of late. This post shows a couple of his creations, and I also share a link to a site with a bunch of free resources for projects using all types of digital media: http://unsocialized.net/pt/Experiments-in-Animation----and-Free-Les...

Thanks so much!  I added this to the arts and crafts resources page as we don't have a digital page as yet.  Thanks, Carolyn

I have a few freebies this week:

Free PDF to practice name writingbased on the book Chrysanthemum by Kevin Henkes. There is also a link up of Henkes activities if you have something to share.

I'm also hosting a giveaway of the book Chrysanthemum.

And I have a free PDF for the book "David Goes to School" by David Shannon.  We created a book of good choices we CAN make at school.

Excellent, Jackie, you are quite a curriculum writer and you explain the use of your materials so very well.  Carolyn

I'm back student teaching again soon (where did the summer go?)!

I am going to be student teaching at "S-School" and would love some feedback regarding introducing classroom management.

I also wrote about possiblyfilming my student teaching for the WBT Certification program.

It feels like it has been forever since I have shared anything! It is good to be back :)

Wow, it is fantastic your fiance will be at your same school and you can drive together.  Your plans sound great and I hope you get the certification!  Carolyn
