Here's my lastest post. Teach Phonograms to Early Readers
And here's a Facebook Page I started for my Parent and Child Reading Assistance business. If you visit, you'll see a picture of my first booth at a show called Weekend for Families last weekend. It was so fun to present my business and meet people who are helping children learn to read!

A useful post for parents, Michelle :)
Permalink Reply by Andrea H on April 24, 2012 at 2:23pm Here's a link to a science game I posted where kids practice using a mirror to reflect light to a target. Ultimately kids learn that light travels in a straight line.

Permalink Reply by Tonya Dirksen on April 27, 2012 at 10:35am This is a great idea, Andrea! What a fun way to learn a little science. My girls will love playing in the dark. They might take a while to understand how to make the light bounce off the mirror but what a fun way to teach that concept.
i really liked this activity Andrea :)

Hi Everyone -
My latest post is on Why We Love the Nat'l Parks Jr. Ranger programs. Not only encouraging families to get outside, but also a wonderful way to get kids to learn about nature, science and history. Most of the activities are free (some have a small fee), come with a great booklet, allow kids to earn patches - And you don't even need to visit a park to start earning rewards as a Jr. Ranger. Such a wonderful program!
Permalink Reply by Tonya Dirksen on April 27, 2012 at 10:43am We love hiking! thanks for telling us about the Jr. Ranger program!
You're so lucky to live near this. Sounds so cool!
Permalink Reply by Carolyn Wilhelm on April 28, 2012 at 3:19pm Hi, Jacquie, I commented on your blog but I didn't reply here. So, I love what you wrote. "They" say our children are nature-deprived and programs like this really help children to get outside, get exercise, learn, and find the out of doors exciting. Thanks for much for your blog and posts! Carolyn
