Here's a link to a science game I posted where kids practice using a mirror to reflect light to a target. Ultimately kids learn that light travels in a straight line.

This is a great idea, Andrea! What a fun way to learn a little science. My girls will love playing in the dark. They might take a while to understand how to make the light bounce off the mirror but what a fun way to teach that concept.

Hi Everyone -

My latest post is on Why We Love the Nat'l Parks Jr. Ranger programs. Not only encouraging families to get outside, but also a wonderful way to get kids to learn about nature, science and history. Most of the activities are free (some have a small fee), come with a great booklet, allow kids to earn patches - And you don't even need to visit a park to start earning rewards as a Jr. Ranger. Such a wonderful program!

Hi, Jacquie, I commented on your blog but I didn't reply here. So, I love what you wrote. "They" say our children are nature-deprived and programs like this really help children to get outside, get exercise, learn, and find the out of doors exciting.
