Comment by Milly Gandy on November 3, 2011 at 4:42pm: We celebrated the Hindu New Year 'Diwali' by visiting a local temple - all the colourful sights, scents, tastes, and exotic sounds completely blew the kids' minds! The kids asked lots of questions and took their own photos on the day; going on to write their own detailed recounts in holiday scrap-books on their return home. Pure magic ;-)

While we were cleaning, we made coin rubbings and identified the Presidents, buildings, and symbols on the coins. Nothing fancy--but we had fun:
