This group sounds like you have lots of talents to share.  What are you up to now?  Has anyone any new resources for making money?  Thanks.

Hi all,

Sorry that I am late to add to the conversation but thanks to Amy for bringing up American Association of University Women (AAUW) -- organization for all women who hold a college degree (or equivalent).  I am on the board of our local branch of AAUW as well as reviewer for International Research Grants.  AAUW (local to national) is an AWESOME organization and resource for women of ALL ages!!  From getting to giving help, there are plenty of opportunities.

Check them out at aauw.org or on Facebook.

Merry merry!

Hello Everyone,

I've started a blog listing grants, sweepstakes, contests and giveaways that I find.  Please visit at www.pennilessteacher.com and on facebook.  I have found some great grant opportunities for everyone.

NEA's Going Green Across American is an opportunity to get a grant up to $1000 "to help you implement your innovative education program, activity, lesson or event to excite students about going green, caring for the earth and creating a sustainable future."

Sponsored by Target, The Green Across American Program supports K-12 schools.

To apply, click on this link to visit the NEA Green Across America page.

The Be Big in your community event!
check out this opportunity--develop a great idea, a way to give back to your community, and you could win BIG!

Plus, it's through Scholastic, so it has to be great!

Let me know if you enter--

Hi. I have submitted to this site before and they pay well: http://www.readwritethink.org/util/contribute-to-rwt.html

It has been some time ago, but I had to write a lesson plan which incorporated technology. I hope this helps!

Thanks Amy for this! We could all use a little extra cash. :)

Candace, would you feel comfortable starting a discussion thread about how you got started doing all you're doing? I bet with all of the educators here, your insight and information would be extremely helpful!

Thanks so much--

Hi, All! I left the classroom about six years ago (my husband joined the military and we were moving around a bit) and have been working from home as an educational consultant and writer (in print and offline) since then. I've worked for Kaplan, K-12 (they've closed the custom curriculum department recently), various states and districts, and some of the major textbook companies. I've also been published in Learning Through History and Calliope and on Education.com and I've blogged professionally as an educator. Recently, I've been moving into doing a hybrid of social media and educational consulting for several toy brands. I'll be happy to share resources as I find them!

AAUW, the American Association of University Women, (a group that helped me get to college a long while back!) is offering some incredible grants that are worth taking a look at because many of us are probably eligible.

I'm going to apply for the Community Action Grant and see how we can use it to help grow 'we teach'. Join me!!
