Hi all, 

Sorry that I am late to add to the conversation but thanks to Amy for bringing up American Association of University Women (AAUW) -- organization for all women who hold a college degree (or equivalent).  I am on the board of our local branch of AAUW as well as reviewer for International Research Grants.  AAUW (local to national) is an AWESOME organization and resource for women of ALL ages!!  From getting to giving help, there are plenty of opportunities.

Hi, All! I left the classroom about six years ago (my husband joined the military and we were moving around a bit) and have been working from home as an educational consultant and writer (in print and offline) since then. I've worked for Kaplan, K-12 (they've closed the custom curriculum department recently), various states and districts, and some of the major textbook companies. I've also been published in Learning Through History and Calliope and on Education.com and I've blogged professionally as an educator. Recently, I've been moving into doing a hybrid of social media and educational consulting for several toy brands. I'll be happy to share resources as I find them!

AAUW, the American Association of University Women, (a group that helped me get to college a long while back!) is offering some incredible grants that are worth taking a look at because many of us are probably eligible.

I'm going to apply for the Community Action Grant and see how we can use it to help grow 'we teach'. Join me!!
