we teach

a place for parents and teachers to learn, share, and grow

Good Tuesday Morning!

I've been brainstorming a few ideas on how to use play dough to help with developing fine motor skills.  What young child doesn't LOVE to play with play dough??

I want to create a post on it for sometime in June.

Do any of you have a post you've already done (or you could do one and share here) that I could add in my post?  I'd love to share ideas from all over; not just my own.

Thanks,

~Becky

I have a free Let's Play Dough ebook and a 'masterclass' for a homemade playdough recipe, especially for people who've never tried it before. http://nurturestore.co.uk/easy-play-dough-recipe-2

Awesome.  I'll check it out!

I don't have any play dough articles (I HAAAATE it - the feeling of it under my finger nails!!) but used to work with OTs who loved to pinch it and squash it into balls - all to promote finger muscle strength.  They used to make snakes, and then pinch up their backs to give it spiky spines, and then squish them all down together to see if they could mix all the colours together at once (again, I struggled with this... typical speechie wanted to keep all the colours separate!!)

Best of luck!

Emily

I know what you mean about hating it under the fingernails!  YUCK!!  Thanks for the idea, though. :)
