About me:
I am an experience Primary School teacher who has recently moved to Sydney, from London.

My last teaching post was with a year two class at a London Preparatory School. I am confident in creating a positive learning environment and I set high expectations for my pupils. I have been extremely fortunate to be exposed to a number of challenging experiences within the education and childcare industries. I plan for a range of learning needs dependent on the subject and in order to develop specific skills and ideas. I use a range of interesting and different resources to stimulate the children and maintain their attention, throughout lessons.

I constantly differentiate and assess the childrens' individual learning needs within my lessons and I adapt and improve future lessons, accordingly. By using specific and detailed plans I am always on track and clear about the lessons, the learning intentions and how I will structure the teaching in order to promote and encourage learning. The behaviour management strategies that I employ have allowed me to generate and manage numerous kinesthetic activities, successfully. Promoting practical learning and encouraging the children to become investigative and independent learners. I make effective use of an increasing range of assessment and monitoring strategies in order to ensure that the childrens’ learning progresses. I work effectively as a team member and I plan for the involvement of my colleagues in my teaching, such as a Teaching Assistant, University Students and Volunteers.

Within my lessons and teaching, I try to make links to the children’s interests and I am always sensitive to their backgrounds and home life, understanding how their learning is affected by social, cultural, religious, ethnic and linguistic influences. In doing this, I stimulate their desire to learn and develop their knowledge and understanding. I am aware of the important role that parents and carers play within children’s education and I am confident in giving them feedback on their children’s progress and discussing general concerns or queries with them.
