I’m Michelle Ellis, wife to Kevin and Mama to two amazing boys enjoying the journey of Home Education. Although I hold a current Florida Educator’s License we have always Home Educated, providing our family with vast and rich opportunities we wouldn’t otherwise have. Our family’s Mission is to reach into our Community as the best help possible, lessening the load of others in whatever way/s we can. Our family is very active in our Homeschool Group & on with social networking.
I have been teaching in an Education setting for over 25 years educating from 2 year olds up to (currently) 6th grade – with a bit of Retail Management thrown in, which still consisted of teaching and training.
Our older son being Gifted with a Missionary’s heart and Reading happens to have TS (Tourette Syndrome) which coupled by our younger son Gifted in Math and Science affords us the understanding of educating children with different needs that enhances our family’s Educational experiences.
Spring of 2011, our family founded Florida STEP UP for TS as an avenue to fund-raise for the National Tourette Syndrome Association – which is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to public education and dispelling the myths often associated with Tourette Syndrome. We participate in many other local Community Service Opportunties as able.
I am a fantastic gatherer of information – if I don’t have an answer, I seek one – but further I love to share what I discover, hoping it eases the process for others!

Hello, hello, Michelle! We're so glad you've found us and look forward to getting to know you! As you may have heard, Our little forum has grown in two short years (yay!), so it’s time to do some serious re-structuring! Between now and the New Year, ‘we teach’ will be on hold while we prepare to make changes that will positively affect all members. Though the forum will still be open during ‘construction’ and we will still be sharing ideas, accepting members, tweeting with #weteach, and supporting each other, we will not be sending bi-monthly newsletters or holding any official forum chats. We will, however, be Forming ‘we teach’ advisory board Hiring (yes, hiring!) 2-3 community managers Outlining goals for our group Designing some fab ‘we teach’ bling Doing a wee bit of re-branding and site redesign Creating a schedule of forum chats, webinars, & mad mondays to take us through the spring! In order to do this most efficiently, it makes sense to step back a bit while we do some behind-the-scenes work. (Otherwise, I think I may lose my mind.) But we need your help. Do you want to sit on our advisory board, participate in quarterly conversations to help make decisions and play a big role in making this forum as strong and as mutually beneficial as possible? Are you great at organizing, creating, planning, or bringing people together? Would you like to be paid for 5-10 (or more) hours / month to share your skills with us as a community manager? Would you like to earn a few extra $ by taking on a paid position with our group? Are you an expert in the field who wants to grow professionally by facilitating and organizing a forum chat or webinar? Great! Please take a minute to complete this form: http://bit.ly/NEWweteach Please head on over to the forum, join any and all groups that interest you, and update your profile--add a photo, some information about yourself, and take a look around! Though we are going through some organizational changes, we'd love for you to jump on board! Welcome!! :) amy
